Laboratory

Galileo Chini, among the pioneers of Art Nouveau in Italy, knew how to adapt his poetics to the fashions of the time, attentive to the decoration that becomes an emotional pattern. He was a multifaceted, versatile artist and a refiner of the Deco taste later developed in the 20-year period. He devoted himself passionately to the art of ceramics, interpreting lustro techniques in an unparalleled way and was among the first in Italy to use stoneware in art. We will make decorative discs with a floral theme, elaborating the Chinianhorror vacui around a main subject, even zoo or anthropomorphic, by carving clay and fielding the spaces with colored engobes.
