Starting from the figure of physician and poet Emilio Bortoluzzi, who passed away in 2018, his daughter Elisa Bortoluzzi Dubach on Nov. 29, at 5 p.m., at the MIC in Faenza holds a lecture entitled “Philanthropy and Generosity: discovering the figure of Emilio Bortoluzzi, man, physician, poet.” An important opportunity to analyze the state, provide tools and illustrate best practices of contemporary patronage Elisa Bortoluzzi Dubach, a university lecturer in Italy and Switzerland and a consultant in Public Relations and Sponsorship, is an acknowledged and experienced expert in the field and has been project leader of national and international campaigns. She published among others in 2020 “The Generous Relationship” (Franco Angeli), co-written with Chiara Tinonin, a manual that combines theory and practice to understand and operationalize the relationship with patrons. Overturning a number of stereotypes and providing useful tools to build a lasting and fruitful dialogue. Al MIC will address the topic with a focus on philanthropy related to the world of art, museums and culture in general. A topic that is particularly dear to all cultural institutions, public and private, which need an ongoing relationship with the world of patronage to sustain their activities. The lecture is based on years of research and experience in the field and will alternate moments of reflection dedicated to the history and generous spirit of his father, Emilio, a physician, poet and cultural enthusiast, with wide-ranging digressions on philanthropy, which, today, represents a fundamental commitment for many wealthy people globally. At the end, the lecture will include a panel discussion to accommodate practical and operational questions and concerns on how matching beneficiaries and recipients is possible.
