In the Europa Room of our permanent collection, the layout of the part of the wall showcases has been revised with a new series of works, retrieved from storage, entitled “Contemporary Pills.”
The new section presents a number of works by international authors selected from the various editions of the Faenza Prize over the past four decades.
Different themes are addressed in groups in order to understand how starting from matter, iconic and archetypal forms, there has been a poetic evolution coinciding with the main artistic currents of the moment.
We sense constant figurative echoes, informal and material choices, ironic and pop, minimal and abstract, the adoption of phyto and anthropomorphic forms.
The strength of ceramics in the developments of the last decades takes its cue from the great poetics of the post-World War II period, re-actualized and revised with new eyes, with contemporary spirit and vitality, where the dialogues between the arts are lively and belong to the artistic and design custom, and where topical themes are inserted to make us understand how art is the mirror of its own time.
